Bi-colored yellow and purple quartz gemstones are called ametrine.
The name Ametrine comes from the types of quartz that compose it - amethyst and citrine The Anahi mine in eastern Bolivia is the only natural source for this unusual gem. Rough ametrine is found in both large and small pieces making it suitable for both sculpture and jewelry. Natural ametrine is not heated or enhanced and yields gems of stunning beauty appropriate for any kind of jewelry setting.
