A lemon yellow to golden yellow to yellow-green variety of Beryl. It's also known as Heliodor.
Golden Beryl's other name, Heliodor, comes from the Greek "helios" (sun) and "doron" (gift): a gift of the sun. Golden beryl shares aquamarine's crisp transparency and brilliant reflective qualities in warm sunny hues. Discovered in Namibia in 1913, golden beryl is relatively unknown and quite affordable. Currently most golden beryl comes from Brazil, Afghanistan or Madagascar but is available from other sources as well. It can be heated or irradiated to enhance color. Golden Beryl is appropriate for any kind of jewelry.
