Ideas:

One of the questions Sherris is frequently asked is "where do you get your ideas?"

When asked to ponder this subject recently, she offered this description:

"Have you ever looked at water outside on a sunny day – a lake, or a river or an ocean? There is a time when the sun lights up the surface and the rippling water looks like millions of tiny jewels.

That's what the pool of ideas is like. It's endless and eternal and full of gleaming possibilities.

In my experience, it is as if I am standing in a wide river of jewel-like ideas. The river is flowing happily, millions of interesting thoughts floating by. I scoop up a particularly attractive one and examine it, play with it. Usually I put it back, and am content to think about it.

Sometimes, an idea that brims with light and swirling colors appears. When I pick it up it sends shivers down my spine and a wave of inspiration carries me away. Those are the ideas I pursue."
