A variety of Beryl that occurs in hues of pink and peach. Some are decidedly pink, some tend to a more purplish-pink, and some may even have a hint of orange.
Named after J.P. Morgan (who was a gem collector as well as a famous millionaire), this gem has a delicate "blush pink" color that combines well with other gems. It rarely occurs in large, clean pieces and is less common in the retail market than its well-known cousin aquamarine. Morganite is sometimes heated to enhance its color. It is a durable gem and suitable for any kind of setting.
