Pink or peach tourmaline is found in colors ranging from hot "bubble gum" pink, to soft, pastel hues with great vibrance. Pink tourmaline is one of the birthstones for October.
Pink and peach tourmalines are lighter in tone and color than rubellite (red tourmaline), and generally show greater transparency than the red varieties. Wonderful pink tourmaline is mined all over the world, including California, Maine, Brazil, Madagascar, Afghanistan and Mozambique. Large pink tourmalines are more difficult to locate than gems under 5 carats.
