Most often a pastel green/blue in color, some exceptional gems are a brilliant blue. All blue zircons have been heated to achieve their color. It is one of the birthstones for December.
The most popular color of zircon today is blue, but only those zircons from Cambodia will turn blue during heating and the supply is definitely limited. Sometimes called "Starlite," blue zircon can resemble aquamarine and blue topaz but has more fire and brilliance as a result of its high refractive index and strong dispersion. It polishes beautifully, and produces brilliant cut/carved gems with sparkle similar to a diamond. Zircon is relatively hard but can suffer from surface abrasion, so daily ring wear would be unadvisable.
